I have used many different drawing programmes and techniques over the years. My preference lately has been to use Vectorworks. However, I came across Luke's tutorials and found them immensely beneficial, even when using Vectorworks. With a good understanding of 3D modelling, sheet layers, viewports, and render modes is it very easy to follow the tutorials. Although Luke uses Sketchup and Layout in the tutorials, there is far more to the tutorials no matter the programme you use, such as what detail levels to model to, setting out the viewports to the correct scales on the sheet layers, correctly dimensioning your drawings, details to call-out for generating separate detail sheets, as well adding shadows and render modes to make the drawings pop and easier to read. I have found Luke's tutorials to be clear and detailed with great snippets of industry information and would highly recommend to anyone seeking to take their drawings to the next level.
